He has been actively selling himself the past few years and pushing his way around town based on the fact that he is the PM's brother.
Yes sure he talks about merit and all that but truth is he is a typical Umno elite type who is depending on his big brother for handouts.
The latest thing he is lobbying abang Najib for is for Tan Sri Azlan Zainol to be retained as EPF CEO.
His retirement date is a few months away but Tan Sri Azlan Zainol has been lobbying like crazy to get a two year extension.
Guess who is trying to make it happen?
Nazir of course lah.
The banker has been Azlan's chief lobbyist
There is a very good reason for this - good for Nazir that is.
During Azlan's time in charge at the EPF, he abdicated the pension fund to Nazir.
Yes it is really Nazir who calls the shots on the EPF investment panel.
What is happening is that all CIMB's clients which need EPF investment get a fress pass.
It has been like this for a few years.
Nazir is Najib's brother so does anyone dare to question any deal?
Does anyone even dare to ask the abang what the adik is doing?
It is an open secret tat Nazir runs the EPF.
He has even blocked a number of deals not handled by his CIMB.
But he knows that his control of the EPF could come to an end when Azlan retires.
A new man may not be so compliant and may not give all the plum deals that go through EPF to CIMB.
So little birds in Putrajaya are hearing that he has been canvassing abang for Azlan.
Azlan has publicly told people he wants to retire but he has been clamouring for an extension of two years.
This is the chap who approved the questionable 1 billion pound purchase of a property in London and has been involved in many dirty deals with his honcho Johari.
Now Azlan wants to stay on because he wants to make even more money from the privatisation of the rubber research land in sg buloh.
Makes you wonder how much is enough for these guys.

Akhirnya, ditanam juga dalam liang lahad dengan dosa-dosa yang banyak yang walaupun dia ingat sudah dimaafkan, tapi direkod dalam sistem rekod di akhirat. Disebabkan dosa-dosa yang terkumpul waktu mengumpul harta dunia, maka "pahala" di syurga sangat berkurangan berbanding dengan seorang hamba Allah yang sewaktu hidup, hanya bekerja sebagai Pembantu Am Rendah (PAR). Kalau ikut standard "pahala" syurga, Nazir diberikan "flat kos rendah", manakala hamba Allah PAR mendapat sebuah bangalow. Itupun kalau Nazir dapat masuk syurga.

Nampak benar fitnah.. Azlan Zainol is from the corporate side, so I’m sure he is wealthy enough already and doesn’t need all this extra pressure working for epf just to get more. He’s been with epf for ten years and he’s at his pinnacle now so whether he extends contract for one, two years more is irrelevant. I’ve got nothing to do with this guy but you got to admit, epf so professional and efficient now compared to before.. probably better to leave it to him who has been running it than to someone you know nothing about and actually got worse agenda.
